Types of webbings for PPE

Lanyards, harnesses, energy absorbers

Longe EPI

Webbings designed for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) play a vital role in user safety. At Lécuyer, each webbing is engineered to ensure reliability, performance, and compliance with current standards. This page presents the main types of PPE webbings, their uses, application areas, and selection criteria.

Lanyard

Lanyards are used to connect the safety harness to an anchor point. They ensure user restraint or progression during work at height.
They are manufactured in compliance with EN 354, the standard for lanyards used in fall arrest systems.

Fall-arrest webbing

Fall-arrest webbing is a key component of safety systems. Its function is to absorb and distribute energy during a fall, reducing the risk of injury.
It is part of a complete system including harness, lanyard, and anchor point, in accordance with applicable fall protection standards.

Harness and lifeline

Harnesses distribute the forces exerted on the body during a fall arrest. They must comply with EN 361, which defines safety requirements for fall-arrest harnesses.
Lifelines and anchor points used with these systems fall under EN 795.

Energy absorber

The energy absorber is a component that limits the impact transmitted to the user’s body in the event of a fall. It can be integrated into the lanyard or webbing and works by dissipating the kinetic energy of the shock.
This device contributes to the overall safety of the PPE system.
